I started this book two years ago… and then fell into a brutal reading slump. But recently, I’ve found my way back to reading, and decided to finally finish this one—this time via audiobook. Let me tell you, it was so worth it.

Denise Williams is an author I truly admire. Her storytelling is heartfelt, sharp, and joyful. The world she’s building in this series is so full of warmth, charm, and characters you can’t help but root for—both the main characters and the ones just passing through the scene.
Now let’s get into it.
We follow Britta, a writer with dreams of becoming a lead columnist, and Wes, a man who seems to have it all… yet is still looking for something real. Britta is assigned to develop a story around FitMe, a wellness app that pairs users with coaches to support healthier living. She signs up, gets paired with Wes (not knowing he’s the CEO), and from their first witty text exchange, the chemistry is electric. When they finally meet in person, it’s clear there’s more than just a digital connection. But with secrets, boundaries, and expectations in the mix, their story takes some heartfelt turns.
✨ What I Loved ✨
1. Body Positivity & Honest Health Journeys
This book beautifully explores what “healthy” really means. It’s not just food and exercise—it’s self-worth, grace, and learning to love the body you’re in. As someone who has recently gained weight and is learning to embrace the journey without shame, Britta’s experiences hit home. She’s honest, open, and reminds readers that movement, joy, and confidence can—and should—exist at any size.
2. Britta’s Transparency
Her posts about her FitMe journey felt so real. The anxiety of walking into a gym where you feel like you don’t belong? Been there. The internal back-and-forth about progress vs. perfection? Also me. Britta is the kind of character who reminds you that being vulnerable is also being powerful.
3. Wes (and That Voice 😍)
Wes was the perfect balance of sweet, secure, and slightly guarded. And can we talk about Teddy Hamilton narrating his character in the audiobook? Iconic. His voice brought so much life to Wes, and honestly made me swoon a little. Okay, a lot.
The plot twist near the end had me gasping and grinning—and that’s what I love about Denise’s writing. It’s emotionally grounded, but still full of surprises.
So yes, it took me two years to finish this book, but I’m so glad I did.
If you love a romance with substance, warmth, and a lead who isn’t afraid to grow—The Fastest Way to Fall is a must-read.
